Very iconic structure we have here on the way to and from Cadiz, Kentucky. Once I had car trouble in my 1973 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. I threw a fan belt. It was very late at night. It was the dead of winter. Cold winter. I had to stop the car in front of this building and at the time it was a store and it was closed and I could tell there was an absolute roaring fire going on inside from the smoke billowing out of the chimney on this building. A nice lady came to the door and asked me if I wanted to come in and get warm. I did. It was a coal burning stove. I warmed a bit and then went out and got under the hood of the car and by some miracle was able to get the fan back on the pulley and it started up and I was able to drive all the way home to Dover with no problems. I never pass this old building without thinking of that time and how kind and trusting that lady was. She had provided me with a flashlight and without that I would have never been able to have gotten the belt back on properly and not sure how I did that anyway with no tools.
