There are lots of things to consider when you camp in Land Between the Lakes or anywhere in the LBL area. Are you ready to camp? That is the first thing to consider. One way to make sure you are ready and prepared to camp is to go ahead and do a trial run in your backyard or side yard.
This may sound simple, but it is one amazing way to make sure you are ready for a camping trip. Also, if you are truly a camper, you can have fun camping anywhere. If you cannot have fun camping in your own yard, then you are going to have problems camping anywhere.
Also, camping in your yard will allow you to make sure you have everything ready to go when you do go camping.
One of the great things about living in the Land Between the Lakes area is that no matter where you camp, you are camping in LBL or close to Land Between the Lakes.
Also, if you are camping in your yard and you get tired of camping, you can always go inside and put the tent up later.
I’m not really a hard core camper, but I always have my canoe with me.
I did put up my Teepee tent this summer and it stayed up all week long. It made it through what little rain we have had in the past few weeks. It also made it through several large wind storms.
It made for some fun times to go out and get in the tent and then haul the canoe to the Cumberland River (Lake Barkley) and go for a paddle. I did not have to stress much over the camping. It was about as stress free as you can get and still technically call it camping and canoeing.
The main thing is that I did have Fun!
