A very nice series of programs were held Saturday afternoon on the front porch and grounds of the ‘Surrender House’ in Dover, Tennessee as part of the efforts of Fort Donelson National Battlefield staff and volunteers. The programs held Saturday afternoon discussing the battles of Fort Henry and Fort Donelson and the surrender of Fort Donelson were lively and well-attended. These programs were the first public programs at Fort Donelson since the Covid lockdown of 2020, park officials said.
