For sure this door opened to lots of joys and lots of sorrows through the years and the decades. The steps leading up to the door brought lots of folk to and from the homeplace that once greeted folks; but is no longer here. What world did this door open up to and close to? For sure it was a very different world in very many ways from what we are working with now, I think. Interesting images like this remaining door and steps is one of the fun things I like to look out for in our great Land Between the Lakes area. I first noticed this door this recent Christmas season because the owners had placed a nice wreath on it.
It was the door to yesterday. It stands here today, but it is yesterday’s door. It is the door to yesterday. Yesterday’s door, and it stands here today; but it opens to nowhere and closes there too.
