Nightmare storm “widow makers” at Fort Henry remain… ~ Land Between the Lakes

SEE THE PHOTO GALLERY OF THE FORT HENRY ‘WIDOWMAKERS’ ON THE GROUNDS ACROSS THE WOODS IN LBL AFTER THE DECEMBER TORNADO! — The horrific tornado that blasted through Kentucky and Tennessee on Dec. 10, 2021 left scores dead and homeless. In the woods of Land Between the Lakes at and near Fort Henry, Tennessee the remnants of the nightmare storm remain. Dozens and dozens of huge trees were blown over by the roots and ripped apart and scattered to the forest floor. The deadfalls are literal ‘widowmakers’ at all parts of the area as the downed trees are still down. We at LBLUS.com wonder how long they will remain as such? It is a tragic sight to behold and a nightmare reminder of what this terrible storm caused in the area. It must have been a literal nightmare to have been in the path of such destruction. This photo was taken just a few days ago off the road to Boswell Landing in the Fort Henry, Tennessee area of Land Between the Lakes. We wonder if the trees will just remain as they are or will the area be cleaned up with the trees at least allowed to be cut up for firewood. It is a dangerous spot here with so many downed trees in an area of LBL that is highly traveled by hunters, hikers and those who enjoy the LBL outdoors areas.
