This is Lizzy of the famous ‘Jack and Lizzy’ pair of resident nesting bald eagles at Fort Donelson National Battlefield in historic Dover, Tennessee. (Of course, I may be wrong and this could be Jack; but I think it is Lizzy.) There are lots of folks who are more expert than I on identifying our resident eagles. I was taking this shot with our bird looking the other way and just as I was about to click, she turned and stared right at me. She can see me better than I could see her. Thanks the the 2,000 mm pull on my Nikon ‘secret weapon’ camera, we are able to get right up close and personal with the nesting bald eagle. Eaglets should be appearing soon (We hope!)
