Wildlife photography in Land Between the Lakes is one of the most popular activities in LBL. LBL Wildlife photography is also considered to be a great sport! Opportunities for outstanding and interesting photos abound in and around Land Between the Lakes. If you are looking for a fun way to spend a day, or a weekend, take your camera out to any part of LBL and start shooting the wildlife.
Shooting the Animals and Birds!
LBL is known far and wide as an area where gun hunters stalk and take animals and birds in season. The gun hunters have their seasons and so do the photo hunters. I personally have hunted animals in the past, sometimes hunting in Land Between the Lakes, but I like to leave the animals and birds alive. I like to shoot animals and birds in LBL, but I prefer to do my shooting with my cameras.

It’s not necessary to have expensive camera gear. You can shoot some great photos with your phone. I have several cameras and I am known to say, truthfully, that I don’t change lenses, I change cameras. I won’t say how many cameras I have, but I usually take at least five different cameras with me. Each camera has a different lens. This way I can just pick up another camera for the style, lighting and proximity.

If you are looking for something fun to do in LBL, try out photography. You can get as sophisticated or as simple as you would like. While I have a number of cameras, all of my equipment, cameras and lenses, are pawn shop specials. I have mostly Canon cameras and lenses and I also have a super zoom 1,000 mm Canon mount lens. My special camera I always have with me is my “secret weapon’ Nikon camera. I also is a pawn shop special.

Have Fun with Photography in LBL.
As you can see in the photos above, I like to shoot the interesting shots. I like the everyday drama of our wild friends in action. There is no better place to find animals and birds in action than in Land Between the Lakes.
