Behold the woodpecker! Where else can you see a cartoon character come to life? Only in watching the wildlife around you, including that wildlife in human form, can you get a mind’s eye glimpse of the natural inspiration that spawned, for example, the cartoon redhead bird.
Pileated Woodpecker
Pileated Woodpeckers live in almost every part of our country. Their once dwindling numbers have ‘taken off’ in recent years. It’s not hard to spot one of the mischievous redheads in and around the trees and woods of the Land Between the Lakes area.
Wildlife Photography in LBL
One of the most fun and satisfying of all activities and pursuits in the LBL area is wildlife photography. When you are a wildlife photographer, including the LBL area, you are allowed to shoot any and all animals and birds all year long. Also you get to return sometime in the future and shoot the same bird or animal again — potentially.
