Dover votes to sell Vacant Lot beside Town Hall via online auction ~ Dover, Tennessee ~ Stewart County

The desirable vacant lot beside Dover, Tennessee Town Hall will soon go on the online auction block via GovDeals.com.

Dover City Council members voted three to two to sell the lot. Some had hoped the council would walk back their plan to sell the lot.

The vacant lot is located beside Dover’s Town Hall on busy U.S. 79, aka., Donelson Parkway.

With tonight’s action the lot is going, going and soon will be gone. The reserve on the 1.13 acres is $65,000. Reportedly investors from Clarksville and adjoining and nearby property owners have expressed interest in the lot.

On first vote, council members Archie Story, Mike Pulley and Robert “Boo” Beechum along with Jane Burkhart all voted to sell the lot and Mayor Lesa Fitzhugh was the lone “don’t sell it” vote. After the vote Jane realized she had voted to sell the lot and asked to change her vote to a “don’t sell it” vote and the council agreed.
