The old Dover Fire Tower! I have a lot of pretty good memories from right here. Right after high school I worked here with the Tennessee Forestry Division from the summer of 1975 until the summer of 1976, the year after I graduated high school and the year before I started college. I actually worked at all of the Tennessee Forestry Division fire towers in the Stewart and Houston county area during this time. I helped paint this entire fire tower from top to bottom and we also painted all of the other fire towers including the Model Fire Tower, the Big A Fire Tower and the Erin Fire Tower. We fought fires, painted everything and kept the grass and weeds cut and clipped. I learned as much or more this one year as I did any other single year in college. It was a great job and I look back on this time with great fondness.
