Jack and Lizzy, our resident Bald Eagles at Fort Donelson National Battlefield in Dover, Tennessee (Stewart County) were making the best of a blustery , winter afternoon this today, January 19, 2022. The mating pair of bald eagles have been residents of Dover/Stewart County, Tennessee at Fort Donelson National Battlefield since 2004. Duck hunter in nearby Dover Bottoms across the Cumberland River/Barkley Lake at Fort Doneson gave the two a little bit of ‘flighty’ concern today as one or the other, or both, would hop and shift a bit with each random shotgun shot. The eagles seemed to be preparing for a rather biting and windy, cold night tonight, with possible freezing rain and snow.
