LBL Toad

LBL Toad cries for Rain! Land Between the Lakes

Even the toads are crying for rain in the Land Between the Lakes area. It is not just in our area; but there seems to be a long, hot dry, drought spell going on in most of the country this summer. It is so hot and dry in the Land Between the Lakes area this summer that even this toad appears to be crying for rain in LBL. It is so hot and dry, even this LBL toad cries for rain!

Of course this little toad is not literally crying. The dark streak coming from its eye is its natural coloring. I was doing a little bit of creative photography with this toad. She (or he) hopped into my line of sight as I was experimenting with my relatively new lens. It is a Canon 100 millimeter macro Lens (F) model.

I am very inexperienced with macro photography and I am doing my best to get up to speed with the lens. I found this macro lens in one of the area pawn shops. Actually most, if not all, of my camera equipment is from pawn shops. So far, I have had great luck getting cameras and camera equipment form pawn shops.

I am working to find the magic, sweet spot with this particular lens. I have taken some liberties with the wording of the post. However, I have talked with a whole lot of LBL area folks and none of them I have talked with can remember such a hot, dry, miserably dry early summer.

So, it is not a stretch to think that this little toad may be crying for rain in the Land Between the Lakes area.

I will continue working on my macro photography skills. Right now this lens and my full frame Canon camera are better than I.
