Gotta keep it cool~ If you have to, find a pond and jump in as these Model, Tennessee bison are doing in the Stewart County portion of Land Between the Lakes. For decades the American Bison Herd have been the most iconic animals of LBL, and are in the former community of Model, TN.

Probably the most recognizable of all of the icons of Land Between the Lakes are the American Bison. They are located at the LBL range in the former community of Model, Tennessee.
Whenever I see the bison, I get a big smile on my face. They are still there. And I am still here.
These bison were finding a great way to stay cool during this very hot, hot, dry summer day at the bison range in Model, TN.
When it comes to photographing the American Bison, I have said I have problems shooting the big animals.
However, I think this is a good shot.
When I see this photo or think of the bison in the pond, I am reminded of this very cool summertime song by Mungo Jerry.
